Tim Schuetz | Executive Director
Tim comes to Colorado Firefighter Calendar after more than five years as the Director of Development at Colorado AIDS Project (CAP), and over 15 years of managing events of all sizes. Prior to CAP he worked at the Denver Zoo and Colorado Lottery managing fundraising events and in sponsorship activation. Some of the events Tim has managed in the past include Brew At The Zoo, Do At The Zoo, Zip A De Do at the Zoo, AIDS Walk Colorado, Red Ball, and Art for AIDS, to name a few. A graduate of Colorado State University, his positive attitude and warm personality was a natural fit for his time with Up with People, as a performer and later as part of the staff. Tim enjoys spending time with his family and spending time outdoors, regularly skiing, camping, hiking, and biking.
Shanda is the Corporate Contributions & Volunteer Advisor for QEP Resources, a leading independent natural gas and crude oil exploration and production company headquartered in Denver, Colorado. In that role, she is responsible for developing QEP’s philanthropic strategies and leading the company’s community investment efforts throughout their seven state service area. Shanda has worked in the nonprofit and public sectors in the Denver metro area for 20 years and has extensive experience working with organizations that improve communities and provide services to the people of Colorado. She earned a Master’s Degree in nonprofit management (MNM) from Regis University and a Bachelors of Science in business administration from the University of Kansas and is an affiliate faculty member in the Regis University MNM program. In addition to serving on the CFC board, Shanda is the Board President of the Community Resource Center and serves on the PEP Committee of the Women’s Foundation of Colorado.
Andrea Welter | Secretary
Andrea has been working with the Colorado Firefighter Calendar, Inc. since its organization in 2011. She is a corporate transactional attorney with Burns, Figa & Will, P.C. In her free time, she is volunteering with calendar events, skiing, or being active. Andrea enjoys volunteering with the calendar and raising money for Children’s Hospital Burn Center and Burn Camp programs.
Kristy has been volunteering with the Colorado Firefighter Calendar as Treasurer since 2012. Professionally, Kristy works in Corporate Finance at a Colorado-based internet service provider. Outside of volunteering and working, Kristy enjoys athletic pursuits and makes health and fitness a priority in her life.
Crystal’s passion for The Children’s Hospital has spanned over 23 years. She has been an active volunteer for the Foundation since 1989. After a close family member had to be admitted to the hospital as a baby, Crystal was moved by outstanding care that was received and decided that day to get involved. She joined the calendar in 2005, which has led her to her current role. Crystal was born and raised in Colorado and understands the changing needs of the Front Ranges’ diverse population. In Crystal’s career life, she is an Annuity Wholesaler at Jackson and has been in the financial industry for over 15 years. Her passion for reaching goals is what motivates her and helps her to stay focused towards Colorado Firefighter Calendar’s vision.
New to the CFC in 2014, Eileen is a Texas native and graduate of Texas Tech University, having been in Denver for 8 years. She comes to us with over 7 years of experience in volunteering in the Denver community, including having served on the Mile High United Way Emerging Leaders Council Steering Committee as the Event Chair for the past two years. She is also active with Concerts for Kids, Mile High Youth Corps and the Dirt Divas mountain biking group. Her passion for helping others, specifically children with various challenges, has now led her to the new adventure of joining CFC. Professionally, Eileen has more than 10 years in corporate construction and development, with experience in building new stores for several Colorado-based companies. She enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, rock climbing and anything else outdoors!
Karin Palmer | Merchandise and Production
Karin has been involved with the Colorado Firefighter Calendar for six years and serves as the Chair of Merchandise and Production. She is the owner of Zolarium Tanning Studio in Downtown Denver and also serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Lodo Historic District, Inc., a 501(C)3/non-profit in Denver. As Chair of Production, Karin oversees the photo-shoot of the calendar; spray tanning, oiling, and misting the firefighters to make them look their best. “It’s a horrible job but someone has to do it”. – Karin Palmer
Kristi graduated from Colorado State University with a Business degree focused in Marketing. She owns a Denver-based floral design business, Fleur Décor, with a focus on designing for weddings and corporate events.As an active Colorado State University alumni member on the community service committee for the Denver Ram Network, Kristi won the volunteer of the year award in 2011 for her hard work and dedication. She dedicates much of her volunteer time serving as the Marketing and Events Chair on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Firefighter Calendar, Inc. She highlights the annual trip to Burn Camp as her favorite part of volunteering for the calendar because it is a way to physically participate in a program that has benefited from all of the hard work of the Firefighter Calendar. Outside of volunteering, Kristi enjoys all things outdoors including skiing, golfing, running, hiking, camping, attending sporting events, wine tasting, gardening and spending time with her golden retriever, Kaila.
Kristin’s dedication and passion to volunteer in her community led her to the opportunity to be a part of the Colorado Firefighter Calendar board. As an Executive Assistant at a Denver based Oil & Gas Company, Kristin works in many different areas, from Communications to Government Affairs. She is also responsible for leading corporate events from planning to execution. She has an extensive background in advertising, public relations, event management, graphic design and marketing. Kristin grew up in Colorado and graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Journalism degree focused in Advertising and Public Relations. She spent some time living on the east coast in Boston and New York before making her way back home to Colorado. She enjoys traveling, golfing, baking, attending concerts and spending time with her family and friends.
Vicki is a long-time supporter of the CFC and the mission to support The Children’s Hospital Burn Center and many other local non-profit organizations within the community. Professionally, Vicki is an experienced marketing, communications and event planner for Starwood Retail Partners. Vicki comes to CFC with 10+ years of experience and expertise in data analytics, strategic planning, integrated and omni-channel marketing, digital and social advertising and corporate event management. Vicki grew up in Gunnison, Colorado and graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree focused in Graphic Design with a double major Art History. She also received a second degree in Web Design/Development and Multimedia from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering at local animal shelters and rescues, giving back to those who don’t have a voice. Like many Coloradoans, she loves Cross Fit, hiking, biking, camping and anything that gets her out in nature.
Jeff Cole | Firefighter Liaison
Jeff just recently closed out the 2016 Colorado Firefighter Calendar as “Mr. December” and he is honored to continue his work with the calendar by having been named to the Board of Directors. A graduate of the University of Colorado and the Naval Postgraduate School, Jeff has been a firefighter for 28 years as well as having served in the U.S. Naval Reserve. He has been involved with his department’s peer support and critical incident debriefing teams and he has also been a scoutmaster and a member of the collaborative decision making team at his children’s school. Jeff believes that, in his role as liaison, he will be able to support and coach firefighters who are in (or who aspire to be in) the calendar and to also assist the board in understanding firefighter needs and perspectives. In his spare time, Jeff likes to fish, ski, camp and generally be outdoors. Currently, Jeff is the training chief for District 2 with the Denver Fire Department.
Nick is a Firefighter/Paramedic with Elk Creek Fire Protection District and first became involved with the Calendar in 2011. He has helped to pioneer CFC’s involvement in the Juvenile Fire Starters Program that Dr. Jackson puts on every month at Children’s Colorado. As chair of the Education Committee, his focus is expanding our education programs and becoming a certified burn councilor in order to make a bigger impact, not just with Children’s Hospital and CFC, but for kids in our community. Nick considers CFC a family and is greatly appreciative of the calendar and honored to be apart of the hard work and dedication. In his personal life, Nick enjoys spending time with his wife Kali, traveling, dirt biking, and camping.
Loren Schuessler | Firefighter Liaison
Loren is a Firefighter Paramedic with North Metro Fire Rescue. He started his journey with the calendar in 2013 as Mr. September and has since been involved in developing the early childhood fire safety education program. His focus is to expand the fire safety education program and inform families of the importance of fire safety in the home. Loren also finds time for golf, hiking, travel and new adventures. He is dedicated to participating in community events and continues to volunteer with Elk Creek Fire in Conifer, CO.
Recently elected to the Board of Directors, Frank was born and raised in Denver, a true Colorado native. He has been in the fire service since 1999 and works as a firefighter/paramedic with the Adams County Fire Protection District. Frank first started with the Colorado Firefighter Calendar as Mr. May 2015, which was a record setting year for donations. He brings great expertise in public relations, event organizing, signings and donations. Frank is a great resource for current and future firefighters in the calendar as a certified fitness trainer and as a recruiter for future Calendars. Frank spends some of his off days from the fire department working for a north Denver winery, as one of his passions is culinary arts and wine. In his leisure time, Frank enjoys spending time with family and being active, including: fitness, traveling, snowboarding, surfing, snorkeling/diving, golf, motorcycles and sport shooting.
