Interview: Christoph Manke, Mr. April 2018

April 2018 is brought to you by Christoph Manke. Christoph has been in the fire service since 1991, starting his career in Evergreen, then moving to West Metro, Copper Mountain, and his current station with the Clear Creek Fire Department.

Christoph became a part of the firefighting community through the influence of his peers. He knew a  lot of firefighters, so he thought he would give it a try. It was definitely worth the try, as 27 years later he is still active!

His favorite part about being in the Calendar is participating in the all of the great events that support an extremely great cause. Christoph has enjoyed meeting all of the different people who help support Children’s Hospital Colorado Burn Center and Burn Camps program.

How does Christoph keep in tip top shape? He focuses on his diet and believes that maintaining a healthy balanced diet is the ticket to keeping lean. He routinely exercises on the treadmill and also works outside most of the time, ensuring plenty of physical activity.

Christoph tried out for the Calendar not really knowing what it entailed. All he knew was it was for a great cause and he wanted to give it a try. Being part of the Calendar, forced him to get back in shape.

Way to go Christoph!

The Colorado Firefighter Calendar is a group effort and without the help and support of hundreds of great people it would not be possible.
