Interview: Vince Van Binsbergen, Mr. July 2017

Summer is coming in hot and we wanted to feature Colorado Firefighter Calendar Mr. July 2017, Vince Van Binsbergen. Vince started his firefighting career at age 16 as an Explorer and then volunteered for three years. He has been a career firefighter for four years at Elk Creek Fire Rescue.

He has always wanted to be in the medical or firefighting field. At the young age of seven years old, he would run around with a bag that read EMT on it.

Vince became interested in the Colorado Firefighter Calendar organization to make a positive impact on kids’ lives. His favorite memory of his time thus far with CFC is his experience with the Juvenile Firesetters Program. He finds it very meaningful to be able to help kids understand fire safety.

Vince keeps in shape for the Calendar by careful watch of diet and daily workouts.

The one firefighting tool Vince would take with him if stranded on an island would be the halligan. It would serve multiple purposes for survival and protection against the elements.

Thank you to Vince for all of his hard work in attending events and raising funds for the Burn Center and Burn Camps Program at Children’s Hospital Colorado as a member of the 2017 Colorado Firefighter Calendar.

The Colorado Firefighter Calendar is a group effort and without the help and support of hundreds of great people it would not be possible.
