INTERVIEW: MR. OCTOBER 2019 - CALVIN BROWN
Fall is on its way! 🍁🍂
Leaves are changing, crisp days, cool nights are ahead and it’s time to flip your calendar to Mr. October, meet Calvin from Larkspur Fire Rescue.
Calvin is originally from Texas, where he started his career as a first responder. He became a firefighter for the opportunity to make a difference in his community, plus as he describes firefighting, “It’s also a high-speed, low drag team sport, a lot like college football,” which he likes.
We all have heroes, whether it be fathers, mothers, grandparents… Calvin’s hero is Former President Obama, which he had the pleasure of meeting at The Fallen Firefighter Memorial. How cool is that!?!
When Calvin, this generous Taurus isn’t firefighting he is usually kicking back on days off, he hits the gym, plays softball or basketball and spends time with his daughter.
Mr. October made the commitment to the Colorado Firefighter Calendar for the first time in 2006, he loved the organization and experience helping the children at the Burn Center and Burn Camps Program at Children’s Hospital Colorado, that he chose to commit for a second time. Since his debut in 2006, Calvin has had the opportunity to work with the CFC Board on some of the calendar events and believes that the work that CFC does with Children’s Hospital Colorado is amazing and incredibly fulfilling. “The chance to be a part of that is beyond measure,” state Calvin.
Meet Calvin and the rest of our Colorado Firefighter Calendar firefighters at our upcoming signing events.
