INTERVIEW: MR. NOVEMBER 2019 - NICK WINGO

Summer is officially gone and fall is officially here. Hello November!

We are grateful for our thoughtful and caring firefighters, we are especially grateful for Nick from Westminster Fire, aka Mr. November!

Nick is one hellava guy, he was born and raised in Colorado, yep that’s right, he and his family of four, are all Colorado Natives, through and through. Nick is happily married for 11 years and raising two youngsters. On top of that, he is a full-time firefighter with Westminster Fire. Firefighting was his career goal since he was a young kid, he was always fascinated with fire, now it is who he is and could never imagine doing anything else.

Nick is legit, built like a brick house, when preparing for his debut in the 2019 Colorado Firefighter Calendar he got on the keto diet which worked well for him. He spent 5 days a week in the gym, sometimes twice a day depending on his schedule. Nick has a home gym, so there was no doubt he’d miss a lifting day. This guy can deadlift over 600 lbs. On top of gym time, he also incorporates Jiu-Jitsu into his routine, which is a great source for cardio.

Nick’s #1 hero is his dad. He strives to be the man he is every day. His dad has been through many trials and tribulations and always pulls through for the better.

Typical is not a word Nick uses to describe his days off from the firehouse. He is spontaneous, so who knows what a day off could bring. The things he enjoys most are hiking, biking, camping, taking my jeep 4-wheeling, hunting, or pretty much any outdoor activity. Throw his kids in the mix and who knows what he will be up to for the day.

This down to earth, modest, Virgo describes himself as loyal, loving and adventurous.

If you haven’t noticed, Nick has a variety of tattoos, from which most have a meaning behind them, and it would be very difficult to explain them all. His most favorite, is the EMS Star on his elbow, with his wife, son, and daughters EKG in it. This symbolizes his family’s heartbeat, which is with him wherever he goes.

There is still time this year, to catch up with Nick and the rest of the 2019 Calendar firefighters. Check out our upcoming signing events and get to know your first responders, while giving back to the children at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
