INTERVIEW: MR. MAY 2019 - MARK BALDWIN

You might remember Mr. May from his lightning bolt bunker pants at the tryout! They lit up the catwalk.

Meet Mark from Denver Fire. In addition to his making his lightning bolt pants and growing an epic mustache, Mark prepared for the tryout by getting up at 4 a.m., six days a week to get in at least an hour of heavy lifting and 45 minutes of cardio. He maintains good eating habits and constantly changes and modifies workouts based on his overall goals.

Mark has been married for 20 years, has four boys and is originally from a small farm town called Badger, Iowa.

“I decided to become a firefighter because I believe when it’s all said and done, I’ll have to answer for what I did with my life. I can think of no better answer than I served others with the gifts and talents God gave me,” Mark said.

Mark would describe himself as loyal, driven and blessed. He wanted to be in the calendar to help raise money for a great cause. “And to prove to those who thought I was too old and out of shape that a 50-year-old can still rock a killer body!”

You can meet Mark and the rest of the firefighters in the 2019 calendar PLUS all of the 2020 candidates at the Tryouts at EXDO Center on May 11, 2019.
